Keep Sharp

I used to kickbox. And maybe those of you whom I have had the pleasure of speaking with have noticed that I have taken some shots to the head.

So that is why I say, I used to. Now I keep active in other capacities.

Life got in the way over the last month and I couldn’t train. But what I did do, was walk. I walked a lot… 25,000 steps some days.

Now, what does this have to do with you? I would encourage you to stay active, but that isn’t what I am getting at. Suppose you find yourself having trouble finding a new positions sharp. Stay active.

Take courses that will build your profile. Consult- volunteer with a local charity where they can utilize your skill set and you can add real value. Read books. Don’t go into 100% vacation mode and hope that when your phone rings, you will be set.

I went back to the gym yesterday. On my first pull-up, I pulled my “lat”, which aggravated my back. Now my knee is angry with me from my landing. Had I just gone for a walk, I would have been OK!

Stay sharp, so that when it is time for you to perform, you hit the ground running like there were no days off.
